Maundy Thursday begins the Three Days with our Lord’s Last Supper. Tonight Jesus gives a new commandment: that we should love one another as he loved us. This is the origin of the word “maundy”, which comes from the Latin “mandatum” (as in “mandate”). This is symbolized in tonight’s service by the washing of feet. After he washed his disciples’ feet, they abandoned him to the cross. Tonight we confess our betrayal and denial of Jesus Christ, which leads to his death on the cross for our redemption.

This service will be a combined service with St. John’s Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church. It will be held at Prince of Peace and Pastor Derek Forbes will be preaching. Please join us!
